Extra! Extra! Read all about it!

Help save a historic Milwaukee Road Depot in Charles City, Iowa! Our museum, the American Passenger Train History Museum, was asked to lead the project to save this artifact of the city. We have already raised over $180,000 towards this project - But we need your help raising the remaining $170,000! Please donate! Local resident, WWII veteran, and former civic leader James Smith is matching donations up to $100,000 total, which will get us to $300,000 of our $350,000 goal! You can donate at our website - www.apthm.org - using both PayPal or by mail.

We have until March 31, 2021 to raise the money! Once the money is raised, our museum will move the depot from its current location along the CP railway, south to our museum grounds on the former Charles City Western interurban railway. Once there, we will set it on a new basement foundation and begin restoring the building to be used as a trailhead for the Charley Western trail around town, as well as the museum headquarters and grounds entrance, and community meeting rooms.

Please help us save this beautiful building and preserve a piece of rural America’s and Charles City’s storied past! As part of the American Passenger Train History Museum, the Milwaukee Road Depot will continue to be a community staple for many generation into the future! Donate at https://www.apthm.org/ if you want to help save this historic depot!
